Typhidot or Widal Test is a blood test. For the diagnosis of typhoid fever, a widal test is used. Typhidot test is a dot ELISA kit. This test detects IgM and IgG antibodies against the Salmonella typhi bacteria. Within 2-3 days of infection, the widal test becomes positive. It separately identifies IgM and IgG antibodies. The Widal test is based on the presence of specific IgM and IgG antibodies.
